Born in Paris to a Franco-Algerian background, Mademoiselle Kermiche’s strict upbringing led to a degree in engineering—but also fostered a rebellious temperament.
After deciding to break free to live her dream, she moved across the Channel and completed multiple courses in jewellery design at Central Saint Martins and 3D Computer Aided Design at Holts Academy in Hatton Gardens. Her abiding ambition became to create jewellery, which reflects the generation of successful, powerful and funny women she saw all around her.
Designed for women with a curious, independent spirit and an appreciation for the exuberant, eclectic and unseen, the Anissa Kermiche debut collection comprises her signature line and a seasonally changing capsule of provocative pieces, launched for Spring/Summer 2016.
Representing the duality of her personality, there’s poetry in the geometry, sensuality in the construction, and elegance in her confrontational approach to empowerment. From her London based studio, she has sourced the finest stones and used her technical, engineering and creative skills to consistently challenge convention.
Constantly searching for new food for her imagination, Anissa turns shapes from daily life into what she calls wearable art —lamps become earrings, paintings translate into textures and sculpture informs the lines of neckpieces. Building on her obsession for fine art, her coming collections will take inspiration from some of her favourite artists including Allen Jones, Alexander Calder and Constantin Brancusi.
She hopes her pieces bring you confidence, joy and a hit of “give a damn” attitude.
